Hidden Power

Gratitude and Appreciation

Gratitude is the most powerful of all tools. Gratitude is recognition for what we have - it is readiness to show appreciation for something or someone. The practice of gratitude is a great key to abundance. When we practice gratitude we feel more joyful and more alive. We express more kindness and compassion to others and we take better care of ourselves and our surroundings.

I have been practising gratitude for a while and I surely notice the difference. I became a more positive person, more focused and with eager to live a happier life. I began to see life in a colourful way and to enjoy each moment more profoundly.

The first time I read about the power of gratitude was on a book called, 'A Little Light On the Spiritual Laws', by Diana Cooper. Lovely book! As I read about it I understood why I was so happy as a child. I enjoyed each moment and looked at things with glowing eyes, admiring all that I saw.  Then I knew the real meaning of gratitude.

If you want your life to become happier, healthier and more abundant, concentrate on what you have and you will end up having more. Keep a gratitude journal, where you can daily write down what you're grateful for. Write  everyday ten things you're grateful for and why. For example: "I am grateful for the abundant water that I have easy access to, because I have enough to drink when i'm thirsty, I can bathe, clean, wash and water the plants. I am grateful for my eyes because I can see and that makes me free to go where I want to go, to read the books that I love and to choose what I want to eat from a menu."

It is not selfish to be thankful for what we have, it is simply recognising that we appreciate what we own and are grateful for it. Some people might not have what you have but they may have what you don't. So be grateful for everything, it might seem small to you but would be beneficial to someone else.

Gratitude unlocks the great resources of the Universe. When we learn the art of living gratefully  we become more alive and receptive to the goodness that comes in our life. I normally insist in writing ten things that I am grateful for every single day, but often I add to my list as I notice more things that I appreciate. When you start practising gratitude and appreciation you will notice that you will become more joyful and your feelings will change as you shift your energy level with that powerful tool.  It immediately makes life meaningful.

In time you will see things working for you. Things will flow to you easily, because that is how the Universal Law of Attraction works. You will be attracting things to you as never before, because the Universe knows that you are going to be grateful for them so it will be happy to provide you with more of what you are grateful for.

The practice of gratitude also helps us sort out difficult situations with a more positive attitude, because when we are grateful we know that all things will work out for our own good and we always will expect the best results.

Appreciation also reduces our stress and improves our health. Being grateful for people: strengthens relationships - therefore, no more arguments and gossips. Gratitude will empower you and bring happiness into your life. It will wash away the tears of sadness, fear and hopefulness, and bring you to the path of fulfilment and joy. Gratitude turns what we have into enough. Count your blessings and watch them multiply.

Hidden Power

Understand Yourself

I learned to look at myself with kindness. I realised that being auto-critical made me bitter and meant I disliked myself. After realising that it was okay to fail and that I did not have to be perfect, my way of seeing myself changed. I stopped punishing myself for making mistakes, and instead I learnt that mistakes were lessons to improve myself.

Learning to understand yourself is the first step to self-healing - healing from loneliness, sadness, confusion, anxiety, insecurities, and self-hatred.
Understanding your feelings, your emotions - why you act and re-act in certain ways - what changes your moods, and why you feel lost and confused sometimes.

First of all, understand that you are a human being like everyone else. You are not different from anyone, there is nothing wrong with you, you just need a different mind-set to take you to a whole new "internal" level, where you will find comfort, love, grace and internal peace. Be your best friend. Be kind to to yourself, look deep within and know that there is a "real you." Take this moment to make changes, changes that will lead you to a more meaningful life. Take the necessary steps to be the best version of you, but do it with kindness, understanding that you are in an ongoing process.  We have endless chances to improve ourselves, and it is okay to fail again and again until we learn. Like a small child learning to walk.

All steps will lead you somewhere, and it is no different from the steps to a happier you. You need commitment: take yourself serious, decide to change, to overcome, to succeed! Decide to feel good no matter what, always reminding yourself that it is okay, you will do better next time. Focus primarily in feeling good, because  feeling Good feels Good! Be your best friend and understand yourself.

Poem

If I Could Catch a Rainbow

If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you
And share with you its beauty
On the days you're feeling blue

If I could build a mountain
You call your very own
A place to find serenity
A place to be alone

If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea
But all these  things I'm finding
Are Impossible for me

I cannot build a mountain
Or catch a rainbow fair
But let me be what I know best
A friend that's always there.

Step Out From The Comfort Zone

Many of us have established a comfort zone in our life. Comfort zone is a psychological state in which things feel familiar to a person. It is a state where one feels safe and at ease by taking a line of least resistance towards life. In this situation we feel comfortable by not having to face challenging situations, however, with this settled method of having little effort, no improvement is made in life.
In all cases, being in comfort zone one feels in control of their environment and experiences low level of anxiety and stress.
Being in the comfort zone might feel good because no effort is needed, but the danger is that you stop reaching, stretching, seeking and risking in life, and as a result you stop growing, and without continuous growth you will not grow in any way. You should know that if your life is not going in one direction it is going in another direction – you are either creating or disintegrating. By keeping yourself in the comfort zone you may be holding yourself back from real growth, real accomplishment, and a potentially excited future. There is no room for adventure and excitement in your comfort zone and in time you might feel trapped by boredom and fear. Most of the greatest lessons in life are learned by taking risks and living outside of the comfort zone. You can grow as a person, become more confident, gain new experiences, and enrich your life.
Your comfort zone is comfortable because it's where you know what to expect. Maybe you feel it's time to stretch those limits and to start changing your life.

What can you do to step out from the comfort zone?

In reality, comfort zone is not really about comfort, it is about fear. Break the chains of fear and step outside. Once you do, you will learn to enjoy the process of taking risks and growing in the process.
One of the biggest things that holds many of us in the comfort zone is our fear of what people think. It is important that you start with small steps as it is not easy to come out at once, and build your way up. Start by doing a different thing every day, a new thing or a thing that has been challenging for you. If you want to make changes and start building a more exciting life, it is necessary that you commit to these steps. In time you will notice that those small things are not a challenge anymore and you will want to step to bigger challenges.
Know that the worse thing that can happen when you try something new is that you might fail. At least you tried and probably learned that it wasn't as scary as you imagined. Just knowing that you tried is an accomplishment, and even a failed attempt at something new is a measure of success because you had the courage to act.

Be yourself, be unique. Don't try to be someone that you're not, you are amazing just the way you are. You are different and meant to be, embrace that. And also don't worry about what others think of you. You'll live a much happier life when doing this. Learn to laugh at yourself when you make mistakes and give yourself a tap on the back for trying. When you step out of your comfort zone, remind yourself that the unknown does not have to be scary and that you can face any situation life throws at you.
Get comfortable with discomfort. Little by little life will unfold in magnificent ways, and you will be excited to be more out of the comfort zone and curious to explore more of life.

The Meaning Of Happiness

What is happiness? What is that that we all look for in love, in money, in success, but yet none of that seem to fulfil us? Happiness is a state of mind, it is the result of good thoughts; It is a realisation of a renewed mind: It is a magic seed of contentment that is planted deep within.

Happiness is a living emotion that has to be flourished by us in the secret garden of our soul, by nurturing our authentic happiness the way we would nurture something that's beautiful and alive. Our happiness is a right guaranteed since our birth, it can only be realised once we commit to making it a personal priority in our lives; we should be willing to pursue it.

A question that is frequently asked is, "how can I believe in happiness if I was never happy?" The thought is understandable from that point of view, but we have to remember that everything has its opposite. There is no "positive" if there isn't a "negative" - it will be neutral. If there is no "down" there will be no "up" - if there is no bad there will be no good. Therefore, if there is sadness, there is also happiness. The key is to take control of your thoughts to bring harmony between mind and soul. Our soul speaks to us, so listen to it, pay attention to your feelings it tells you when you're going with the flow.

Focus on thinking and doing what you enjoy the most. Only focus on what makes you feel good. A negative feeling always comes after a negative thought. Look deep within and notice what changes your feelings - when you notice it you can take control and repeat affirmations that will redirect your mind to positivism.

With practice happiness will turn into a habit. When you say "I just want to be happy!" ask yourself what's stopping you? Don't stop yourself because of some condition, be happy anyway. Nothing should stop you from feeling free and joyful. So, redirect your mind to what you want rather than to what you don't want.

In other words, you have the ability to control how you feel - and with consistent practice, you can form life-long habits for a more satisfying and fulfilled life.

Don't take long, don't waste time, build yourself up. It is possible to be truly happy and live a life filled with abundance. Think your life into existence!

Quiet Mind

The Importance Of Meditation

Having time to quiet the mind is essential to move away from all the stress and turmoil of the world. We need every day to have a moment of silence and calmness if we want to be happy and peaceful. It is necessary to quiet the mind and bring back stillness and clarity in order to live in harmony with life.

Meditation is the quickest tool to finding inner peace. It is the practice that helps us enter into a state of mindfulness, a state of presence. We focus on paying attention to what we are doing while we are doing it, whatever this maybe. Once you are present and here, your mind will naturally quiet down. Notice that I say "quiet down" and not stop, because the mind never stops - it quiets down and becomes calm, but never stops. A truly silent mind is alert and sensitive to its surroundings because it is free from judging, clinging or rejecting. The silent mind is free from hatred, anger, jealousy, confusion and conflict. When the mind can rest in its own stillness it can see things as they are and not how we think to be. And, in this stillness there is a space that holds true peace, and this peace will germinate into profound satisfaction.

Quieting the mind is possible when we pay attention to what is happening around us, and in us. Quieting is possible through focusing in the present moment, by paying attention to the sounds around, without judging them. Just paying attention will bring ease and a momentum of joy. When we live in the present moment life is more harmonious and there is much joy. Fear does not exist in the now, only profound peace. We appreciate every thing that life offers. Life only exists in the present: the past is a remembrance of what happened in the present and what is to happen in the future will happen in the present.

There is sweetness in the present, there is joy and contentment. A bliss and joy so fulfilling that no other intoxicants is needed to achieve happiness. Our thoughts are clear and life moves smoothly.
We can only appreciate beauty when we are aware of what we see and what we touch.

When you quiet your mind, and stop that resistance, you redirect yourself towards harmonious living and meaningful relationships. Only then does life become worth living, because now you can experience fully each moment in its freshness and you can truly live in harmony with yourself and others.

I read this quote somewhere and found it interesting to keep it in mind:
"Prayer is when we speak to God, meditation is when God speaks to us."

Love Quotes

The Absence of Love

There is no force of hate.
Hate is simply the absence of love,
just as darkness is the absence of light.
Poverty is the absence of abundance
sickness is the absence of health,
and sadness is the absence of joy.
All negativity is simply the absence of something positive.

I read this somewhere and I wrote it down on one of my spiritual note books to keep it in mind. I wanted to share it with you because I found it so interesting.

Magical Steps To A New You: Be Kind!

Magical Steps To A New You: Be Kind!: "Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love."      ...

I Am

I Think Therefore I Am

"I am what I think I am." I was thinking about this message this morning while I was writing my ten blessings. If I am what I think I am - then, I am happy if I think I am happy; I am prosperous if I think I am prosperous; I am confident, I am intelligent, I am guided, I am loved. I am everything that I think I am. Isn't that beautiful?
It is beautiful when you can create what you want, if you deliberately think thoughts that will take you to create the life that you want. Most people believe they don't know what they want, and I once thought the same. It is frustrating when you don't know what you want in life, and you just accept whatever comes your way. But with much needed reading and researching, I found a simple method that worked for me: 'To find out what I want, I have to first find out what I don't want'.
At first, I was in doubt but then I decided to make a list of everything I didn't want, and that I disliked about my life; what was going wrong and what I wanted to change.
As I was writing the list it came clear to me what really made me miserable, unhappy and frustrated.
After ending the list I felt peace. I think it was because I wasn't going against my feelings anymore and I was finding out what I was unhappy about. I began writing what I wanted in place of what I didn't want, and it felt good to know that there were things I could change. The following step was to figure out what actions to take to make the changes and start acting on each point. With each achievement I knew miracles would start happening in my life. I am still acting on them, and still have a long way to go, but at least now I know what I want and what my goals are - I am not accepting anymore whatever comes, I choose what and how I want things to happen in my life.
And dear friend, if this is what is happening with you, try to follow these steps and let me know in the comment box if it works for you, and how you feel. Life is really a miracle, we  just need to learn the laws and mysteries that lead us to an Amazing life!
